Lincoln School Families,
I hope the extra day off this weekend allowed you and your family the opportunity to relax, rejuvenate and spend some quality time together! With two full weeks of school in the books, I know I truly enjoyed the extra day off and the opportunity relax and hang out with good friends!
Many thanks to everyone who attended Open House last Thursday. It was a great evening full of positive energy and excitement about the school year ahead! Since our meeting, I’ve spent much time reflecting on how fortunate I am to be a part of the Lincoln family!
Over the next two weeks our students in grades 2-4 will be participating in the NWEA MAP Assessment. This benchmark assessment, given in the fall and spring, provides teachers with useful data, which is utilized to develop and differentiate instruction of all students!
I am very excited for the first Principal Birthday Lunch of the school year. This Thursday, September 10 we will celebrate August and September birthdays! During their scheduled lunch time, I will eat lunch with the kids, allow them the opportunity to ask me questions as well and take a photo with each student to hang on our Birthday Wall! I am excited to kick off this program with your kids!
Thank you for your continued support of Lincoln School. Please know my door is always open if there is ever anything I can do to help you or your kids. I look forwarding to seeing your kids on Tuesday!
Casey

The PTO is looking for volunteers to help manage and create the Lincoln Yearbook. We are specifically looking for parents with younger students as many of our experienced volunteers will be aging out of Lincoln soon. Learn the ropes this year, and help lead the project next year!
Please contact Jenn Meyer “jmeyer AT ajenda.com” or Ann Mills “anncieslica AT msn.com” if you are interested in learning more about this project. Thank you!
Whether you work full time or from home, we have volunteer opportunities to fit your life and schedule. Come take a look on our Sign Up Genius volunteer page to see how you can best contribute your time to your child’s school. We need room parents, fun lunch volunteers, book fair helpers, pancake flippers, and even silent auction sales experts. Volunteer for a one day commitment, or regularly throughout the year. You can work from home, in the classroom, or in the evening. Take a look – we’d love your help! We also have some PTO positions to fill:
We try to have 2 volunteers for every PTO Position, so “co-chair” means you already have a partner for this job. Please contact Amy Dwyer “amyadwyer AT gmail.com” or Tammy Travis “tamara_irwin AT yahoo.com” for more information. Thank you.
