Lincoln School Families,
I hope you had a great weekend with your kids. I know I enjoyed having my favorite baseball team here visiting Chicago! It was a fun weekend at Wrigley Field and some great baseball! Go Cardinals!
Last week was very busy here at Lincoln. Safety week and emergency drills were all well executed by all staff and students. The opportunity to engage in these drills not only prepare our staff and kids for any type of emergency, but also provides us the opportunity to reassess and improve our procedures.
This past Friday, courtesy of our PTO, we also welcomed Imagination Theater to Lincoln. These assemblies held on Friday afternoon focused on the character trait of Respect and also incorporated scenes highlighting our new Buddy Bench which will be appearing on our playground very soon.
Finally, as you may know, Mrs. Cribaro will be retiring from her position at Lincoln School on September 30th. I know you will all join me in wishing her much relaxation and rejuvenation in her new Indiana home! I hope you will also join me in welcoming our new secretary, Mrs. Maribeth Kopriva, to Lincoln School. She will begin transitioning with Melinda next week. So while you’re at school, be sure to wish Melinda well, and welcome Maribeth to the Lincoln Family.
I look forward to seeing many of you on Friday night, September 25th, for our second attempt at Lincoln School Family Movie Night.
As always, thanks for your continued support of our school. Please never hesitate to let me know if there is anything I can do to help you or your kids. Have a great week.
Casey

We are thrilled that there has been such an overwhelming response this year to be a Lunchtime Leader! This is a wonderful opportunity for the 4th graders to be role models for the 1st and 2nd graders during lunch. Mr. Godfrey held orientation with the Lunchtime Leaders (see LunchtimeLeaderChecklist) this past Monday and the “Leaders” officially started Wednesday, September 16th.
PLEASE NOTE that we made a few revisions to the September and October calendar that went home last week. The revised calendars will be posted in the 4th grade classrooms. Please see this LunchLeaderLetter for the cover letter about Lunchtime Leaders that went home last week. Most of the 4th grade Lunchtime Leaders were given 2 opportunities to volunteer in this calendar period. Those that were only assigned 1 volunteer slot will be first up in November. It will all even out!
Please reach out to Lunchtime Leader Co-Chairs, Annie Dwyer “loolatopiafairy AT gmail.com” or Dee Dee Carr “dwn1878 AT gmail.com” with any questions. Please also send an email to Dee Dee Carr (email address above) to be included in the Lunchtime Leaders group email list. Those on the group email will be sent the revised September and October calendar along with subsequent months when they are put together. Thanks!
