1/31 Lincoln log

Lincoln Families,

Happy February! I hope you had a wonderful weekend. My hope is that our friend the Groundhog doesn’t see his shadow this week and that an early spring is in our future!

Many thanks to everyone who participated in the Science Expo last week. We had an incredible turnout and participation rate for this year’s virtual event. Special thanks to Damon Raneri, Roshni Richetti, Karrie Dowd and Gabriela Gonzalez, the coordinators and hosts of the 2021 Expo. In the event you missed the event. Below you will find the links to view the various student presentations from the evening. Way to go Lincoln Scientists!

The start of February means we are less than a month away from our Spring conferences. Spring conferences will again be held virtually. Don’t forget to sign up for a time to meet with your child’s teacher using the attached information for Conference Instructions.

Our Winter benchmark assessments will continue in the coming days and weeks. All students in K-4 will participate in AimswebPlus testing in the area of reading and math. All 3rd and 4th grade students will also be administered the NWEA MAP assessment in the area of Reading and Math. Below is the MAP assessment schedule:

Valentine’s Day is quickly approaching.  Please know that due to ongoing safety protocols related to Covid-19, we will not be permitting students to exchange valentines with their classmates. However, teachers will autonomously implement creative ways to safely celebrate Valentine’s Day with their students. Thanks for your support and understanding.

Please continue to spread the word of our annual Kindergarten Orientation and registration on Thursday, February 4 @ 6:30PM. Open registration for any student who will be 5 years of age on or before September 1, 2021 begins later this week. Please encourage any friends add neighbors to attend our K- Orientation on Thursday evening. See attached flyer for more information.

Finally, your continued compliance with the District 90 guidelines for travel and quarantine. Thank you for your partnership in keeping our kids and staff safe.

As always, thanks so much for your continued support of Lincoln. Please never hesitate to reach out if there is anything I can ever do to better support your family. Happy February. Have a great week. – CG
