Happy Superbowl Sunday Lincoln Families,
Whether you’re cheering for Tampa Bay, Kansas City, or just watching for the commercials and halftime show, I hope your family was able to keep safe and warm on this frigid Super Bowl Sunday.
It looks like the February deep freeze will be with us for the foreseeable future. Therefore, for safety purposes we will not be taking students outside for snacks on days where the wind chill/real feel is below 10 degrees. Following the D90 safety guidance, we also continue to adhere to no maskless time inside the building. Keeping that in mind, please be sure that your child eats a full and nutritious breakfast each morning that will sustain them until lunch. Hopefully, warmer days are on the way!
Valentine’s Day is less than a week away. Please remember that due to ongoing safety protocols related to Covid-19, we will not be permitting students to exchange valentines with their classmates. However, teachers will autonomously implement creative ways to safely celebrate Valentine’s Day with their students. Thanks for your support and understanding.
With the upcoming President’s Day weekend, please make special note of the updated Travel/Quarantine Guidance recently released by the Cook County Health Department. Thank you for your continued compliance with this guidance and keeping our kids safe.
Additionally, please note that if your child should need to miss school or quarantine for any reason related to Covid-19 to allow up to 24 hours for teachers to compile instructional resources for your child to fully participate in “remote,” learning. All supplies can be picked up in the Park Avenue lobby.
There have been a few modifications to our daily student self certification process. Please use this attachment for updated instructions on how to self certify your child’s health each day.
Spring conferences are coming up in just a few short weeks. Conferences will again be held virtually. Don’t forget to sign up for a time to meet with your child’s teacher using the attached information for Conference Instructions.
Our winter benchmark assessments will continue in the coming days and weeks. All students in K-4 will participate in AimswebPlus testing in the area of reading and math. All 3rd and 4th grade students will also be administered the NWEA MAP assessment in the area of Reading and Math. Below is the MAP assessment schedule:
Finally, this Thursday at 1:00pm, I am excited to celebrate all of our February birthdays at February Principal Birthday Lunch. Look for the Zoom link on Seesaw on Thursday!
As always, thank you for your continued support of Lincoln School. Please never hesitate to reach out if there is anything more I can do to support your family. Have a great week. CG
