Many Thanks to Señor Jefe on North Ave in River Forest, and our dedicated Fun Lunch Volunteers. Remind your kids what you ordered – Chicken or Cheese!
The Lincoln PTO Web Store is now accepting orders for next year’s school supplies. As a convenience for parents, the PTO offers complete kits that will be delivered to your child’s classroom in August. Orders will be accepted on line only, and only until Sunday, April 26. The PTO prepays for the kits in early May, so there is no chance to place orders at a later date. The Lincoln School website will have updated supply list for those families wishing to purchase their own school supplies. Save yourself a few shopping trips this summer and get exactly what the Lincoln teachers asked for, all in one simple on-line purchase!
Enjoy your summer a little longer, knowing that you have your fifth grade school supplies ready and waiting. This is also a chance to support the PTO through your purchase. Order your prepack school supplies from April 17-May 1 from the Roosevelt PTO revtrak system. https://rooseveltpto.revtrak.net/tek9.asp?pg=products&grp=26 If this is your first child at Roosevelt, you will need to create a user id and password for the webstore. School supply pickup will be in late August. Questions? janewmoore@comcast.net

Spring 2015 is the time to brush up on bike safety for 2nd Graders! This is an informative and fun event for second graders only. Second grade students must have successfully completed the workshop before they are allowed to ride their bikes to school this Spring. Officer Glenn Czernik of the River Forest Police Department will be conducting this bike safety workshop. Register for this free event on the Lincoln PTO Web Store and choose just one of the two days to participate. Kids will be outside for the second half of the workshop. So please send students to school in weather-appropriate apparel. Note: You will be able to register your bike with the Village of River Forest on the day of your workshop.
When: Tuesday, April 28th or Wednesday, April 29th
Time: Right after school until 4:30 p.m.
Place: Meet in the gym (bikes can be brought in the morning & left locked at the bike rack outside the gym)
Bring: Bike with Lock Set and Helmet
A light snack will be provided. Registration is required, please go to the PTO Web Store . There is no cost for this workshop.
It’s almost time for your little eagle to fly over to middle school (sniff, sniff), but before that happens, let’s embarrass them! During the 4th grade breakfast, we will watch a video montage of your child’s years at Lincoln. Please submit any school photos from Kindergarten-4th Grade so we can reminisce about the fun times at our wonderful elementary school. Photos can be emailed to vmfreund@sbcglobal.net (.jpeg & 300dpi if possible) I’m also happy to accept DVDs, flash drives, floppy discs, reel to reels- whatever it takes to get your little one’s face on the big screen. Feel free to drop off hardware in the mailbox at: 747 Franklin
Your help is greatly appreciated! -Vickie Freund
If you haven’t already, please go to the Lincoln PTO Web Store to pay your child’s $20 4th Grade Activity Fee. Attention Parents, if you’re scheduling vacation days at work, you won’t want to miss this opportunity! Volunteers are needed to help coordinate a day of fun activities for 1st-4th grade students. Responsibilities include running games, handing out water or Popsicles, running around, and most importantly, seeing your kids have a BLAST!! This is a favorite spring event and starts with a family picnic lunch on the Lincoln field, so why not stay for the whole afternoon? Fourth Graders do a special Maypole and Drumming presentation immediately after lunch. The day is loads of fun for all! Field Day will be held on Thursday, May 28th. Please sign up to volunteer on Sign Up Genius. Contact Gina Hardy at gfrioli@hotmail.com with any questions. Thanks!
