Did you know that Lincoln Teachers have book fair wish lists for their classrooms?  Check out the Apple bulletin board outside the Library to find the “apples” with book titles and location numbers where those books can be found.  It’s a wonderful way to show your appreciation!

The Holidays are approaching….

The PTO has a new fundraiser that helps you save money at Jewel Osco, ToysRUs, Macy’s, Dick’s Sporting Goods, Eddie Baauer, Sears, Ulta, Five Below, Skechers and many more!

Each coupon book costs $25.   Use just a few coupons and you will save more than the $25 cost of the book!  Check the book’s index for a quick look at all the savings opportunities.  These books also make great gifts!

Each Lincoln student received one book.  We apologize for multiple books sent to the same home.  Please return $25 payment by check in the envelope provided to your child’s teacher.  If you do not wish to keep the book, please have your child return it to his teacher as soon as possible.

Deadline for payment is Friday, November 22nd.

Lincoln School earns 50% or more profit on each book we sell.  Thank you for your participation!

girl scoutsGirl Scouts Book Drive

Need to clear space on the bookshelves?  Pass on your old books to other kids!  The Lincoln Girl Scouts are hosting a Book Drive to benefit local children during the PTO Book Fair.

Lincoln’s four Girl Scouts troops—from grades K, 1, 2, and 3—are collecting books in partnership with Bernie’s Book Bank. This local organization facilitates the collection, processing, and redistribution of NEW and GENTLY USED children’s books to significantly increase book ownership among at-risk infants, toddlers, and school-age children throughout Chicago land. Visit Bernie’s Book Bank (http://www.berniesbookbank.org/) for more information.

Look for our collection box in the Lincoln School lobby from Monday, November 18 through Friday November 22.  Looking for more ways to support our PTO and local children?  Please consider buying copies of your child’s favorite stories to donate to our Book Drive.  Books truly are gifts that keep on giving, and they will make a difference in a local child’s life.  Thank you!

Did you know?

Did you know The PTO sponsored the master story teller, Beth Horner, on Halloween.  She delighted the Kindergarten, 1st, and 2nd Grades with  “Why the Dog Hates the Cat” and “The Terrible Nung Guama.” 3rd & 4th grades listened to “Soldier Jack” and “The Mischievous Girl & The Hideous Creature.”  If you didn’t already hear about it, ask your child about Ms. Horner’s hilarious stories and stretching, too!  Thanks, PTO!

Mark your calendars, the Holiday Shop is coming!

Lincoln’s Third Annual  Holiday Shop will be held  Dec. 3rd through Dec. 5th from 3:10-4:00pm in the gym.   Students can buy presents for friends and family–all gifts are under $10!  Spirit wear and gift cards will also be available for purchase.  Proceeds benefit the PTO.
