A Summer Message from Mr. Godfrey

Lincoln Families,

Happy Summer! I hope this message finds you well, keeping cool and enjoying the time with your kids! Although it seems to have passed all too quickly, I’ve had a great summer traveling, and visiting family and friends. It is hard to believe that the start of school is less than a month away. While I do savor the tranquility of a quiet school over the summer, I’m eager for your kids return to school. I sure do miss them and look forward to seeing them in a few short weeks.  From here on out, the pace picks up rapidly, so I wanted to provide a few informational tidbits to ease you back into “school mode!”

First of all, our incredible engineering and maintenance staff continue to do some incredible work in preparation for welcoming your kids back. Our facility updates include: several of our teachers moving classrooms, the relocation of the school nurse’s office, painting the main office, planting three new trees on the Park Avenue playground, the continued growth of our Native Garden and the installment of our official 2015 Blue Ribbon School plaque. See attached pictures!

Another topic of great interest is class placement and AM/PM Kindergarten assignments.

• Kindergarten Placement  for AM or PM will be emailed to K parents on Tuesday, August 2nd.
• K-4  Class Placement letters  (teacher assignments) will be mailed on Tuesday,  August 16th.

Please note, the main entrance at Lincoln will be closed this Thursday and Friday, August 4th and 5th due to some necessary exterior concrete work.

The Godfreys are off to re-create our version of the National Lampoons Family Vacation this week in Florida. However, I’ll be available by email, so please feel feel free to reach out if there is anything I can help with. I look forward to seeing you and your kids very soon!

August 18:  PTO Web Store & SignUp Genius opens at 7am
August 22: New Family Welcome Meeting (New Families to Lincoln)
August 25: First Day of School
September 1: Back to School Family Picnic
September 8: Open House
