9/6 Lincoln Log

Happy Labor Day Lincoln Families,

I hope you had a wonderful holiday weekend with family and friends and that the extra day provided you the opportunity to reset and recharge after a busy first few days of school.

Please remember that if your family traveled over the weekend to one of the 48 states currently indicated “orange” on the Cook County Travel Advisory list, it is required that your unvaccinated Lincoln Eagle be administered a PCR Covid-19 test at a testing center or medical facility upon return to Cook County. For any situation where this scenario is applicable, the student will remain out of school until Ms. Godellas has received confirmation of the negative PCR Covid-19 test. This guidance is updated regularly, so please be sure to always view the Cook County Travel Advisory website for the most up to date information.

Many thanks to all the Fun Lunch volunteers who joined us last week for our first Fun Lunch since March 2020. It was so nice to bring back this weekly tradition for our kids. Fun Lunch would not be possible without the leadership of Ashley Brice, Cathy O’Neil, and their army of Fun Lunch volunteers!

Please look for communication from your child’s teacher – this Thursday, September 9 will be our virtual “Open House.” Unfortunately, due to current Covid-19 mitigations, we are unable to congregate as a school community for this fun and informational evening. Therefore, the Lincoln teachers have created virtual presentations that will provide you an overview of what to expect of your child’s year at Lincoln. Look for these links in an email on Thursday evening. Please feel free to reach out with any questions you might have after viewing these presentations.

Finally, one of the things that makes Lincoln such a Fine, Fine School is our intentional efforts that focus on celebrating kindness and inclusivity. Therefore, please feel free to spread some Lincoln School Love to a student, staff member, or community member: Lincoln Love “Shout Out” Form

As always, please never hesitate to reach out if there is anything more I can do to support your kids and family and thanks for your continued support of Lincoln.

Make it a wonderful week. CG
