5/19 Lincoln Log

Lincoln Families,
I hope you had a great weekend. The sense of summer break is definitely in the air. However, these final seventeen days will be busy and full of excitement and learning.
While we are still winding down this school year, we are also heavily invested in the planning for the fall.  Registration is now officially open for the 2019-20 school year.  Please don’t forget to officially register your kids for the coming year.  Additionally, please encourage any new families that might be starting Kindergarten or 1st grade to please register ASAP!   As it stands today, our projections for grade level sections are as follows:
Kindergarten: 3 Sections 2 AM 1PM (Suzuki, Stasys)
1st Grade: 3 Sections (DonnellyNeilson, Meyers)
2nd Grade: 5 Sections (Jenkins, Klusak, Mayer, Rogers, Tanglao)
3rd Grade: 4 Sections (Briggs, Burns, Mares, McCole)
4th Grade: 4 Sections (BaiocchiBajo, Cheney, Gattis)

There is still time to participate in the Inclusiveness Advisory Board’s 2019 Inclusiveness Perception Survey. Please take about 5-7 minutes to share your experiences and perspectives about the degree to which District 90 fosters an environment of inclusion for students, staff, and families. The survey results will be exceptionally valuable as District 90 works to improve how we meet the needs of all stakeholders, particularly our students. The online survey is anonymous and confidential. To take the survey, please click on this link: Parent/Family Survey. The survey closes on May 20, 2019.

Please be sure to save the date for all of our annual last day of school festivities:

Finally, don’t forget Friday, May 24 is an 11:25am dismissal for students. Please be sure your kids are aware of their dismissal plans for this early release day. There will be NO PM Kindergarten on Friday, May 24.
As always, thank you for your continued support of Lincoln. Please never hesitate to reach out if there is anything I can do to support your family. Have a great week and enjoy the upcoming Memorial Day weekend. CG

Last chance! – commemorative video for 4th graders: pictures needed by May 27, deadline extended!

A video will be shown at the 4th grade breakfast on the morning of the last day of school, June 12th. The video will contain pictures of the 4th graders through their years at Lincoln School. So grab a box of tissues and scroll through your old photos. Please begin to gather a variety of photos of your child commemorating all of their years at Lincoln, grades K through 4. We suggest photos from school events, school concerts, class parties, field trips, PTO events, back to school pictures, Cub Scouts, Girl Scouts, other clubs, youth sports teams, pictures with good Lincoln buddies, etc.

Photos can be submitted to a google drive via https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1Br8wAPodrOwDK0IUThraRsnGsFNttUMu?usp=sharing or emailed to Lincoln4thgradeclass@gmail.com. We want to ensure that everyone is included so in the body of the email please include child’s name, grade / teacher at the time pic was taken. We cannot use pictures from non-school events, no matter how cute. New families to fourth grade – there’s still time to take pics!  Example: Zoo field trip, 1st grade. DEADLINE TO SUBMIT PICTURES IS MAY 27!

2019-20 registration – don’t delay!

Registration for the 2019-20 school year is now open. In order to improve our online registration process, District 90 is now partnering with the Ecollect/Accela School Adaptive Data Management System. Ecollect is a data collection system that resides within PowerSchool, which is the District’s student information management system. All District 90 registration forms are now embedded within the Ecollect system and will be accessible to you via the PowerSchool Parent Portal. Once you open your PowerSchool Parent Portal, all of the required registration forms will be available on the left-hand navigation bar.

Don’t have a PowerSchool account? No problem! We have created two documents to help – these documents can be found on our website on our registration page, and they will also be sent to you in a separate email from the district.
