5/14 Lincoln Log

Lincoln Families,

Happy Mother’s Day to all of our Lincoln School Moms! I hope you enjoyed the perfect weather day and time with your family and kids. Hopefully, you were given the royal treatment today! I enjoyed a weekend in St. Louis celebrating my Mom with the Godfreys!

Over the next two weeks, students in 2nd, 3rd, and 4th grades will be wrapping up our end-of-the-year assessment cycle when they take the NWEA MAP assessment. D90 administers MAP in the Fall and Spring.  This assessment measures student growth over time and aides in designing and differentiating instruction. The MAP schedule is listed below:

Dear District 90 Families,

I am asking for your help. District 90, along with the Green 4 Good (G4G) Committee, is holding a Planning Meeting on Wednesday, May 17 from 6:00-9:00 p.m. in the Lincoln School Multi-Purpose Room. The purpose of this meeting is to identify the future direction of G4G in the District and to ensure that its focus reflects our values and beliefs as it pertains to sustainability. The meeting will be professionally facilitated by Jim Kelly, a local community member with a strong background in organizational development and meeting facilitation.

We would like to have several parents share their perspective about the District’s direction in sustainability as well as insights about how to support the G4G Committee efforts. The meeting will start with a light dinner at 6:00 p.m. followed by the meeting itself from 6:30 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. Anyone interested in participating in this Planning Meeting should RSVP to me (simmonsd@district90.org) by Tuesday, May 16.

Thank you for your help and please don’t hesitate to contact me with any questions.

Sincerely,

Dawne Simmons
Communications and Community Outreach Coordinator

Field Day Information – JUNE 8

fun run clip art

Lincoln Field Day will take place on the last day of school, Thursday, June 8. It’s a fun afternoon that kicks off with a family picnic on the Lincoln playground at 11:30. Parents bring a blanket and a picnic lunch for their family. Although many parents attend, kids sit in class groups and will not feel left out if a parent cannot be there.  Specific spots are mapped out for each classroom on the Franklin Lawn.

The Fourth Grade Maypole and Drumming presentation is immediately after lunch.  Then it’s time for the games! Parents are welcome to stay and help run the games, or can collect their kids at the end of the school day.

ATTENTION PARENTS OF 4TH GRADERS

Pictures Needed for Commemorative 4th Grade Video

A video will be shown at the 4th grade breakfast on the morning of June 8. The video will contain photos of the 4th graders and their years at Lincoln school. It is important that all those that would like to be included in the video are included in the video, and we need your help to do this. Please send in photos of your child from grades K through 4. We suggest photos from school events, school concerts, class parties, field trips, PTO events, back to school pictures, Cub Scouts, Girl Scouts, other clubs, youth sports teams, pictures with good Lincoln buddies, etc… Please refrain from sending photos from birthday parties, holidays or other religious events.

We have set up a drop box to collect these photos. Click here for the drop box location as well as for instructions on how to upload your pictures. You are free to use the Drop Box website or app, whichever is easiest for you. Please submit all photos by Friday, May 19.
