5/22 Lincoln Log

Lincoln Families,

I hope you had a wonderful weekend.

These final 14 days of school look to be exceptionally busy ones.  Amid the hustle and bustle of these final busy days, please don’t forget to take a moment to spread some Lincoln Love by taking the opportunity to celebrate our incredible teachers and staff who have done so much this year to make this school year so memorable for our kids and community. With the pandemic as our backdrop, it hasn’t been an easy journey for our teachers and staff, but I couldn’t be prouder of them, so please take some time to drop a note or token of appreciation for all their dedication to making Lincoln such a FINE FINE SCHOOL!

If you’ve been by Lincoln over the past few days, you have undoubtedly noticed that our school has been wrapped in orange! Thanks to the time, dedication, and passion of a few Lincoln families, their vision of spreading color and joy has come to life as we celebrate the end of an incredible school year. These families cut, measured and sewed the orange fabric that is on the perimeter of our school. “For the Moment,” inspired by the fabric art that was on display in Central Park in NY, these families have now brought smiles and cheer to our school community.

Don’t forget that this Friday, May 27 is an 11:30am early dismissal from school. There will only be AM Kindergarten on Friday.

Please note the Final Fun Lunch of the year will be held on Thursday, May 26. This is free pizza for everyone! Please note there will be NO FUN LUNCH on Friday, June 3 or Friday, June 10.

SEL

As we continue to observe Mental Health Month in May, here is some information on a public health concern known as Parental Burnout. The pandemic saw a great increase in parental burnout, and we need to be mindful of the warning signs especially as we head into the summer months when our children may need even more from us.

You will meet the cute Dandelion as you rhyme your way through its edible uses or learn to be wary of Bittersweet Nightshade with its toxic berries. Tales of the Plant Guardians: Backyard Adventures will create a world of wonder in your own backyard while introducing botany to your children.
