Parent Forum  “FEED Your Kids Wisely”  7:00 pm Tonight

Parents, caregivers and faculty of Lincoln, Willard and Roosevelt School students are all invited to the 4th Parent Forum sponsored by Lincoln PTO’s Connect4Kids:

7:00 pm in the Lincoln Auditorium, please enter through the Franklin doors

Presented by Lara Field, MS, RD, CSP, LDN, owner/founder of FEED KIDS LLC

Kids need guidance when it comes to making smart eating decisions, and as parents we can use a nudge in the right direction as well. Lara Field will enlighten us by revealing the vital tools needed to establish healthy habits that nourish our children and encourage them to develop healthy eating habits that will last a lifetime.

The forum is about 90 minutes including an introduction, presentation, then Q and A. Many attendees enjoy taking time to digest the new information during the Q & A with other parents.

Come join us as we fuel up on ways to FEED our kids wisely, prevent future disease, and keep our families from running on empty.

School Supply Kits–order now instead of shopping this summer!   Order deadline is Friday, April 25th.

Lincoln’s PTO offers the convenience of ordering school supplies in a single kit that is delivered to your child’s classroom in August.  Order forms were sent out in Friday Folders last week, or you can order on the PTO Web Store. Please remember to order for your child’s upcoming grade.

There is a collection box in the office for paper orders (extra blank order forms are in there too).  The deadline for all Web Store and paper orders is 4/25.

5th GRADE SCHOOL SUPPLY KITs  will be available for purchase on the Roosevelt REVTRAK site April 15th – May 2nd.   The website will list the required items and cost.  Parents new to Roosevelt will have to create a new revtrak account, but students’ Lincoln id numbers migrate with them to Roosevelt.  Kits will be ready for pick up the week before school starts.  Cross this off your list and support the Roosevelt PTO!

Lincoln’s Character Theme for April is CARING

Caring people understand what someone else is feeling (empathy). A caring person will…

* Look at a person’s face and body for clues
* Listen to their words and how they say them
* Think about the other person’s point of view
* Imagine how the other person feels
* Ask, “How can I help?

Would you like to reinforce these lessons at home?  Print out this handy conversation starter!  Word Document: Caring or Caring PDF

Mark your calendar now–Lincoln’s Field Day has moved to Friday, May 30th.

This is also the date for the Lincoln Ice Cream Social and Yearbook distribution.  It’s never too early to sign up to help!  Volunteer Here.
