Lincoln Families,
I hope you had a good weekend. It’s hard to believe that we’ve entered the final week of April! Thank you for all the thoughtful birthday messages and gestures. I haven’t had a weekend birthday in many years, so it was wonderful to celebrate with friends.
Thank you to Alexis Murphy, Lindsey Silver, Courtney Fohrman and the Green 4 Good Team for a wonderful observation of Earth Week last week. Despite the spotty weather last week, we had tons of families walk or bike to school. Don’t forget the food drive will remain active until Friday, April 30.
Next week we will celebrate Teacher/ Staff Appreciation Week at Lincoln. I can think of no year where school personnel deserved more appreciation than they do in 2021. As you know our Fine Fine staff at Lincoln have reinvented themselves and their teaching perpetually over the course of this school year. While the PTO will celebrate our staff each day next week, please don’t forget to send some LINCOLN LOVE and take some time to recognize our Fine Fine staff next week.
As we enter the homestretch of this school year, it is time to begin thinking about the next. Therefore, please be sure to review the attached Class Placement Letter. If you choose to offer any input, please do so no later than Friday, May 7.
Beginning this week our 3rd and 4th graders will participate in the Illinois Assessment of Readiness. Here is a link to her letter Dr. Hawley shared previously about this year’s assessments. Below you will find the Lincoln assessment schedule, beginning Monday, April 26:
There are still spots available for support during lunch and recess at Lincoln Please reach out to me if you are available to assist in the supervision of our kids and the sanitizing of our lunch trays.
As always, thank you for your continued support of our Fine Fine School. Please never hesitate to reach out if there is anything more I can do to support your family.

We had a great Earth Week at Lincoln! Thank you to families for supporting and encouraging your children’s participation from home! Thank you to Mr. Godfrey for supporting and encouraging the kids at school!
Volunteers gave away a total of 765 t-shirt strings to kids who biked or walked to school. Assuming an average distance from home to school of 1/2 mile, the walking and biking kids saved their families $230 in gasoline and lowered greenhouse gas emissions (C02) by 1480 lbs. Use this calculator to see the impact we can all make when we walk and bike!
A BIG THANK YOU goes to all of the volunteers who made this possible by handing out t-shirt strings before school: Kelly Abood, Brian and Lauren Behan, Kesha Burch, Gina Cue, Sarah Donoho, Laura Hausman, Sangeetha Madhavan, and Tatiana Snigurski.

They seem so simple right? But somehow these core concepts are easy to forget or take for granted when life gets challenging.
