I hope you had a nice weekend.
With only thirteen school days before the much anticipated Winter Break, I wanted to remind you of the calendar adjustments that were made earlier this fall:
Last day of Classes: Wednesday, December 23 – dismissal at 2:30
Winter Break: December 24 – January 8
Classes Resume: Monday, January 11, 2021
Supply pick up will take place again this Friday, December 11 for all K-4 students. Any Book Fair purchases can also be picked up at this time. Due to the merge of Book Fair and supply pick up, this week’s pick up will take place in the gym. We will adhere to 6ft guidelines and limit the number individuals in the gym at one time. Please don’t forget your mask will be required for entry. Don’t forget your “Mitten Tree” donations. Friday will be the final day of this year’s drive.
As always, please never hesitate to reach out if there is anything more I can do to support your family. Thanks for your support of Lincoln. Have a great week. CG

Heartworks Service Club is sponsoring the Mitten Tree – an annual holiday tradition at Lincoln School.
During supply pick up on Friday, December 4th and Friday December 11th, Lincoln families can donate NEW mittens, gloves, hats and scarves for children ages 4-13, all of which will be donated to Hephzibah Children’s Association in Oak Park.
Families can hang their donations on the Mitten Tree located under the tents on the Franklin Avenue side of the school during supply pick up on Friday, December 4th and Friday December 11th.
Thank you for your contribution to this organization.
An Anderson’s Book Fair bag with your child’s name on it will be set aside for you to grab when you pick up your child’s supply bag during the weekly pick up times of 8am-2pm. If you cannot pick up during this time, we will hold the books for you to pick up in the lobby the following week. Any books purchased as teacher gifts from the teacher wishlists will be delivered directly to that teacher with a gift tag indicating your child’s name. Thank you for supporting the Lincoln Library with your generosity.
The Young Filmmakers Online Academy will hold a series of live, virtual, synchronous classes for kids in grades 3 to 8 later this month and early next month. They will learn from professionals about how to make a movie with their cell phones or tablets. Content will include story, camera, lighting, sound, editing, and more. Cost is $30 for River Forest residents and $35 for non-residents. Register: https://www.oneearthfilmfest.org/workshops
