It’s Time for the Lincoln School Book Fair!

book fair Get a head start on your holiday shopping at tax-free prices and support the Library and PTO by shopping for quality books, calendars and other fun gifts at our Book Fair. Every item you buy helps us in earning credits for new books for the PTO. Your child will visit the Fair on Tuesday November 18th to make a personal wish list to help you learn what they might like for their own bookshelves. There are so many wonderful categories of books including: Monarch and Blue Stem Award books for the State of Illinois, sports, current adventure titles, holiday books, and social-emotional titles. We will also carry a selection of books for adults! We will also have staff member wish lists for those of you who may be looking for the perfect holiday gift to show your appreciation. Look for the Apples bulletin board outside the LLC. Each teacher will have an Apple and in it you will find books they have chosen with the table number where the book can be found. It’s a lovely way to add to their classroom collection or to pick a personal holiday gift!  Back by Popular Demand We will be hosting a family story time on our late night, Wednesday, November 19th, from 6:30-7:30 p.m. Ellen Cutter from the River Forest Public Library will be leading story time along with some surprise readers to share their favorite stories. • Hear the latest Illinois Youth Survey results and hear what River Forest is doing to make an impact.
  •  Meet and talk with other parents to discover ways to create this important dialogue with your children.
  •  Explore what we can do as individuals and as a community to support the health and wellness of our youth.

This interactive event will be moderated by Emily Heilman, MA, LCSW, who will facilitate our conversation through thought-provoking and engaging questions. It is designed to help us begin or continue our conversations with our children regarding drugs and alcohol. This event is sponsored by the Roosevelt PTO, IMPA.C.T. and generously sponsored by the River Forest Township.
