Lincoln Families,
I hope each of you enjoyed the past several days gathering with friends and family in celebration of the Thanksgiving Holiday. I know the Godfreys enjoyed our first Thanksgiving together since 2019. With only fifteen days of school left in 2021, it will be a busy December around Lincoln.
One of the many clubs at Lincoln School is our News Broadcast Club. This club of 4th graders meets weekly and focuses on reporting and broadcasting the news of Lincoln. Facilitated by Mr. Cheney and Ms. Clasky, here is episode one of the 2021-2022 school year. LIFE @ LINCOLN EPISODE 1
With the holiday season in full swing, many families will be traveling both domestically and abroad. Therefore, here is the current travel guidance that is updated every Tuesday and goes into effect that Friday. Currently, fully vaccinated individuals do not require quarantine or testing for travel provided they remain asymptomatic. One is fully vaccinated two weeks after their second vaccination. Currently, travel to any “yellow” state does not require any testing for unvaccinated individuals provided they remain asymptomatic. When traveling to an “orange” state, it is recommended that unvaccinated individuals have a PCR test 3-5 days after returning to Illinois. The student is not required to quarantine while awaiting testing or results provided they are asymptomatic.
For international travel, any unvaccinated traveler is required to have a PCR test 5-7 days after returning to Illinois and must quarantine while awaiting the testing and results. They cannot return to school until the negative result is on file in the nurse’s office.
As always, thanks for your continued support of Lincoln. Please never hesitate to reach out if there is anything more we can do to support your kids and family. Enjoy the first days of December.
Have a great week. CG

Due to rates of high transmission of Covid 19 in our community and with the upcoming cold and flu season upon us, we wanted to send out a reminder to families. Regardless of vaccination status, if your child has a symptom that is also a symptom of Covid-19 (sore throat, headache, fever, cough, vomiting, diarrhea, extreme fatigue) we cannot assume it is just a cold and per health department guidelines, they will require a negative PCR test in order to return to school. In addition to the negative covid test, the student will also need to be fever free for 24 hours without fever reducing medications, free of vomiting and diarrhea for 24 hours without medications, and have an overall improvement of symptoms.
If your child is only experiencing nasal congestion or a runny nose with no other symptoms, under current health department guidelines, no testing is required.
The guidance continues to change rapidly so please do not hesitate to reach out to the nurse, Erin Godellas with questions. godellase@district90.org
We’re excited to “visit” with Matthew Swanson and Robbi Behr – husband/wife team of the Cookie Chronicles. They will be zooming into 3rd and 4th grade classrooms to talk about their books and writing. You’ll have a chance to order their book through Anderson’s (order form will be coming soon).
4th grade Letters about Literature optional writing contest — Deadline is December 1st – submit to me. In this competition, students write a letter to an author reflecting on how reading that book affected and/or changed them. If students have questions, please see me directly.
This quote is absolutely true, so in continuation of our National Gratitude Month celebration, please consider the prompts below for journaling or for dinnertime conversation with the family:
Thank you to the Lincoln community for the many, many coats and other winter items you donated for families in need!
These winter items for adults and kids were delivered to Cradles 2 Crayons, and these Lincoln Eagles helped load your donations into the bins you see behind them.
Thank you for your generosity!

Please remember to include as much information as possible, e.g., Student Name, Teacher Name, School, iPad asset tag number, etc. Screenshots, links, websites and any other information regarding the issue is helpful. For example, my iPad/computer can’t connect to the XXXXX website when I click on this link.
Additionally, if you have difficulty logging into your child’s special area classes, please be sure to reach out to that particular teacher to assist with any login issues.
