Lincoln Families,
Happy Halloween. I hope you had a lovely weekend and that your kids have a great time Trick-or-Treating tonight on the streets of River Forest.
Although it was a different kind of Halloween celebration at Lincoln, our teachers and kids made the most of last week by celebrating a fun spirit week, decorating class pumpkins, and lots of other activities. Below is a link to the Costume video that I created from all the costume photos that were shared with me. Enjoy!!

Congratulations to the Lincoln Boys on the Run team who ran their 5K this past Saturday. It was a perfect morning for the race. Many thanks to Corby Marx, Courtland Maddock and Heather Ignoffo for motivating and coaching our boys! Also thanks to all the volunteers who showed up to distribute bagels after the race!
In pre-pandemic times, Veterans Day was always one of my favorite celebrations at Lincoln. Inviting our veterans and honoring them at our annual assembly was always a moving and uplifting event. Unfortunately due to Covid-19 mitigations, we will again have to reimagine this event. Therefore, much like we did with the Halloween video, please email me any videos of veterans in your family. We will be sure they are included in our Veterans Day video. Please include the name and branch of service with the pictures. Please send all pictures by Tuesday, November 9th at 5pm.
Don’t forget that Fall Conferences are next week on November 10 and 11. Conferences will be held virtually this year and, for convenience, report cards will also be available to families by logging into PowerSchool. Look for more information next week. As a reminder there will be no school on Thursday, November 11 and Friday, November 12.
Finally, with the CDC approval of vaccinations for children, D90 is excited to offer a vaccination clinic for anyone interested in having their child vaccinated with the Pfizer vaccine. The clinics are tentatively scheduled for November 19 and December 10. Please click here to participate in the questionnaire.
As always, thanks for your continued support of Lincoln. Thank you for all the love and notes of appreciation last week for Principal Appreciation. Please never hesitate to reach out if there is anything more I can do to support your family or your kids!
Have a great week. CG

Don’t Trash It, Smash It! Keep pumpkins out of the landfill by participating in the Annual River Forest Pumpkin Smash, Saturday, 11/6, 9am-noon at Roosevelt Middle School on the Jackson side.
Last year, we composted 805 pumpkins (8,260 pounds). Let’s smash that record in 2021! Please encourage friends, family, and neighbors to compost instead of trashing, and kindly wear your mask and observe social distancing when dropping off pumpkins.
Always so exciting when we get to meet authors – plus, you can handle some holiday shopping right here!
