10/18 Lincoln Log

Lincoln Families,

I hope this message finds you well and enjoying the close of this fall weekend. I think it safe to say that fall has officially arrived. Hopefully, your family took the extra day this weekend to indulge in some safe seasonal activities. For my part, I hosted a group of friends over the weekend for pumpkin carving and chili dinner Covid-19 style!

After 221 days without students, the hallways of Lincoln are eager to come back to life as we begin welcoming back your kids to our Fine, Fine School this week. We’ve been waiting for this day since Covid-19 closed our doors on March 13!! While the school will look and feel a bit different, I’m confident that the excitement of our kids and staff will overshadow many of our new safety protocols and procedures!

On Wednesday, October 21, we are excited to welcome our youngest learners to Lincoln for the very first time. Followed by our 1st and 2nd grade students on Monday, October 26 and our 3rd and 4th graders on Thursday, October 29.

Here is a Welcome Back to Lincoln 2.0 Video Message starring some of our very own Lincoln School Eagles. Mr Godfrey’s Welcome Back to Lincoln Video Message #2

To address questions you may have regarding our return to Lincoln, please click here to review Lincoln’s Guide to Blended Learning. As outlined in this document, an essential part of our return to school safety protocols includes daily self certification of all students. Please see the attached link for instructions on how to self-certify your child/children.

As if our teachers weren’t busy enough preparing for the return of our kids to school, they are also gearing up for our annual Fall Conferences. Below is a schedule for Fall Conferences. This year, all conferences will take place via Zoom.  Please look for a D90 communication this week outlining the sign-up procedure for families.

Wednesday, November 11: K – 8:40 – 7:00, 1st – 4th- 3:40 – 7:00
Thursday, November 12: K – 4 – 12:40 – 7:00

The annual Fall Parties and Character Parade are a seasonal favorite for Lincoln staff, kids, and families. However, this year we will be taking a hiatus from these annual traditions. On Friday, October 30, classroom teachers will embed some fun themed activities into your child’s learning day. However, please note that to honor the safety of all, there will be no costumes or Fall Parties at Lincoln this season.

This Thursday, October 22, I look forward to celebrating our October Birthdays at October Principal Birthday Lunch. Below are the Zoom Links and times for this week’s celebrations:

12:00 K-2nd Grade- K-2 October Principal Birthday Lunch

12:30 3rd-4th Grade-3rd -4th October Principal Birthday Lunch

It promises to be a busy and exciting week at Lincoln as we put the finishing touches on our return plans for our kids. However, please never hesitate to reach out if there is anything more I can do to support your family during this ever changing times. Thank you for your continued support of our Fine Fine School!
