The Lincoln Book Fair needs your help!

Calling all volunteers!  The Lincoln Book Fair needs you!  The book fair is in the Lincoln Library, next Tuesday 11/19   to  Friday  morning 11/22.

We have many time slots still open to man the counter at the book fair.  Please consider donating two hours of your time to this important PTO fundraiser.

We especially need help on Tuesday from 11am to 5pm, our busy opening day. We also need help all day on Wednesday and Thursday–do your shopping while volunteering during school hours!  Please see the full schedule schedule of opportunities on Sign Up Genius.

Mark your calendar for Family Story Time next Wednesday night at 6:30pm!

Need to clear space on the bookshelves?  Pass on your old books to other kids!  The Lincoln Girl Scouts are hosting a Book Drive to benefit local children during the PTO Book Fair.

Lincoln’s four Girl Scouts troops—from grades K, 1, 2, and 3—are collecting books in partnership with Bernie’s Book Bank. This local organization facilitates the collection, processing, and redistribution of NEW and GENTLY USED children’s books to significantly increase book ownership among at-risk infants, toddlers, and school-age children throughout Chicago land. Visit Bernie’s Book Bank (http://www.berniesbookbank.org/) for more information.

Look for our collection box in the Lincoln School lobby from Monday, November 18 through Friday November 22.  Looking for more ways to support our PTO and local children?  Please consider buying copies of your child’s favorite stories to donate to our Book Drive. Books truly are gifts that keep on giving, and they will make a difference in a local child’s life. Thank you!

KidStuff Coupon Books are here!

coupon book

Please check your child’s backpack for our new PTO fundraiser:  KidStuff Coupon Books.  They will be coming home Monday, 11/11 or Tuesday, 11/12.

Each book is $25 and includes valuable coupons for many local retailers (Jewel, Ulta, Men’s Warehouse, ToysRUs), and fun places to go (mini golf, movie theaters, Legoland).  Check the index in each section for the full list of savings.

Each Lincoln student should receive one book.  We apologize if multiple books are sent to the same home.  Please return $25 payment by check in the envelope provided.  If you do not wish to keep the book, please have your child return it to his teacher as soon as possible.

Deadline for payment is Friday, November 22nd.

Lincoln School earns 50% or more profit on each book we sell.  Use just a few coupons and you will save more than the $25 cost of the book…remember to keep the book in your car!    Thank you for your participation!

Happy Halloween!

Reminder: Due to the wet weather, our Halloween parade will not be outside this year! Parents who would like to see the parade may come into the building and go to the auditorium first, and if the seats are filled, parents can go to the gym. The children will parade through the auditorium first, and then into the gym. They will then go right back to their classrooms.

Remember! There is early dismissal at 11:25 today!

Trick-or-Treat hours in River Forest are 3:00pm – 7:00pm.
